Official Statement from the Filipino-Canadian Chamber of Commerce – Greater Vancouver (FCCC-GV)
Today, the United States has officially imposed a 25% tariff on Canadian goods, a move that will have lasting effects on businesses, workers, and consumers across our country. While we recognize this new reality, we firmly believe that the strength of Canada’s economy lies within our own communities.
Now, more than ever, we must take decisive action to protect and sustain our economic future:
Consumers: Support local businesses and choose Canadian-made products.
Government: Strengthen inter-provincial trade and remove barriers that hinder Canadian businesses from thriving domestically.
Business Owners: Explore new & alternative markets, diversify supply chains, and innovate to remain competitive.
All Stakeholders: Promote economic self-reliance by investing in and prioritizing Canadian industries.
The Filipino-Canadian business community stands in solidarity with all Canadians in turning this challenge into an opportunity to build a stronger, more self-sufficient economy. Together, we rise. Together, we grow.
